Welcome!

My name is David Smith.  I am a Wedding Celebrant and an Interfaith Minister. I have the legal authority to officiate a wedding but a Celebrant does much more than that.  My work centers around one big idea: personalized, authentic ceremonies.  I don’t just say words, I say your words.  My job as Wedding Celebrant is not to impose my beliefs but to help you make yours manifest.  The wedding ceremony then represents you, your beliefs and your desires. 

 

First Steps

If you are interested in finding out more, please call or write.  At that time we would make an appointment to meet and talk. There is a story behind every couple; the thousand little and not so little decisions that brought you to the moment when you both realized that you wanted to be together for the rest of your lives.  That story has power.  It can transform the participants as they hear their story said back to them and it can transform the guests bearing witness as they hear it as a complete narrative. I will shape and give structure to your story to your satisfaction.  If there are individual rituals that are important to your cultural or personal history, I would be happy to incorporate those rituals into the ceremony.

            Commitment ceremonies

            Civil Unions

            Renewal of Vows

            Domestic Partner Celebrations

            Same sex Unions

You are in charge.  I will not stop revising the ceremony until it is exactly what you want.  Of course, if you would like suggestions about a wedding vow or ring-exchange practice I will be happy to make suggestions or give you several examples to choose from.
